William L. Saffici Biography

                                                                                 

Bill Saffici is Managing Director of Saffici Payment Consulting focused on consulting in the Payments arena where his career has spanned the past 4 decades.

 

Prior to forming Saffici Payment Consulting in January 2009, Bill was Director, Product Management for US Item Processing Solutions at Symcor, Inc.  Bill’s responsibilities included the development of the product roadmap to deliver outsource services to Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks in the US.  Bill’s role included working with the Product, Operations and Technology groups to set the framework for a cohesive set of solutions to support the infrastructure of Day 1, Day 2 and Print service offerings. 

                                                                                                       

Bill was Vice President, Product Development and Payment Systems Industry Relations for the Fiserv Item Processing Division from 1997 - 2007. Bill was responsible for product initiatives related to check-clearing optimization through paper, electronic and image exchange and Check 21 initiatives.  Other assignments within Fiserv included directing projects and technology assessments related to check, remittance and image processing both in Canada and the United States.

                                                                                   

Prior to joining Fiserv, Bill held positions of various responsibilities in the financial services industry dating back to 1966. These include managerial positions in operations with Philadelphia National Bank/CoreStates Bank (1966-1986); consultant and product management positions with Unisys Corporation (1986-1997) and AFS (the former Littlewood, Shain & Co. – 1994). 

 

Bill has completed studies in Business Management at Drexel University; earned his certification as an Information Capture Professional from The Association for Work Process Improvement; and attended the BAI School of Bank Operations. Bill has actively participated in a number of industry roles: ECCHO Operations Committee, FRB/ECCHO Work Groups, Representative to PaymentsNation, ANSI X9AB Standards Committee, Viewpointe Users Group, BAI Planning Committee, NACHA E-Check, Check ACH Coalition and other industry forums.
